Previously classified as Côtes-du-Rhône Villages, it was not until 2006 that Vinsobres became a full appellation. The Vinsobres appellation extends over the eponymous commune, with a surface area of over 440 hectares. The vines benefit from a Mediterranean climate and are planted between 184 and 509 metres above sea level, on marl, sandy marl and pebble soils. The Vinsobres appellation produces only red wines (Grenache, Syrah). They develop quite fruity and spicy aromas on the nose and show a remarkable balance on the palate, with silky and elegant tannins, intensity, roundness and a lot of generosity.
