This Calvados XO is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature, to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity. It pairs beautifully with apple-based desserts and aged Norman cheeses, or can be savored as a digestif during special moments.
An exceptionally refined Calvados XO from the Pays d'Auge
Christian Drouin, an outstanding family House in Normandy
Founded in 1960 by Christian Drouin Sr. at Les Fiefs Sainte-Anne near Honfleur, this family House embodies the excellence of Calvados from the Pays d'Auge. Joined by Christian Drouin Jr. in 1969 and then by Guillaume Drouin in 2004, the company has remained in the Drouin family for three generations. The Christian Drouin House stands out for its rigorous selection of more than 30 apple varieties, traditional double distillation in copper stills, and careful aging in oak casks. The current production site, Domaine Cœur de Lion, is located in Coudray-Rabut, near Pont-l'Évêque.
Calvados XO, an exceptional blend
Representing one of the most accomplished expressions in the Christian Drouin range and crafted according to the traditional method of the Pays d'Auge, this calvados benefits from double distillation in copper stills, an age-old process that ensures aromatic concentration and finesse.
