A Calvados Pays d'Auge finished in Japanese Chichibu whisky casks
Christian Drouin: an exceptional family house in Normandy
Founded in 1960 in the Pays d'Auge (Normandy), the family-owned Christian Drouin House is now headed by Guillaume Drouin, the third generation. It upholds a demanding artisanal approach, with double distillation in copper alembics and careful aging in casks of varied origins. Christian Drouin stands out for an especially extensive range of cuvées and bold finishes that renew the image of calvados among enthusiasts around the world. A benchmark of the Pays d'Auge, the House combines tradition and innovation in the service of eaux-de-vie of great precision.
Chichibu Angels: a unique French-Japanese encounter
L'Expérimental Angels Chichibu represents a bold collaboration between Norman know-how and Japanese excellence. This blend is based on a 12-year-old calvados from the Pays d'Auge, which benefited from a 4 to 10-month finishing period in 5 casks that previously held Japanese single malt Chichibu, one of the most sought-after whiskies in the world.
This experimental cuvée perfectly illustrates the innovative philosophy of Maison Christian Drouin, which does not hesitate to explore new avenues to elevate its eaux-de-vie. The choice of Chichibu casks is no coincidence: this cult whisky brings an extra dimension to calvados, creating a subtle and elegant alliance between the aromas of Japanese single malt and the finest eaux-de-vie of Normandy. This limited edition attests to Guillaume Drouin’s expertise in the art of cask finishing, a signature that has helped reposition calvados on the international stage of exceptional spirits.
