A vibrant and richly textured Bordeaux rosé wine
The estate
In the hands of the Bernard family since 1983, the superb Domaine de Chevalier stands among the great Crus Classés of Bordeaux. A true haven of greenery, this iconic Pessac-Léognan estate lies to the south of Bordeaux like a secret garden.
The vineyard
Domaine de Chevalier oversees a rare vineyard covering a total of 67 hectares. Like a patchwork of terroirs, it stretches across fine gravel soils resting on a clay-gravel subsoil, renowned for its natural drainage.
The wine
For over 25 years, the estate has been producing Rosé de Chevalier under the Vins de Bordeaux appellation. Produced in limited quantities, this Bordeaux rosé is presented in an elegant, premium bottle, whose distinctive label highlights both its modernity and noble character.
Vinification and aging
Rosé de Chevalier from Domaine de Chevalier is crafted using the so-called “saignée” method. After bleeding off, the non-macerated juices (mainly from cabernet sauvignon) are pressed directly and then vinified separately, with an independent fermentation. This approach yields a rosé with a luminous color, driven by intense fruit aromas. Fresh and delicate, it retains great finesse throughout the tasting.
Blend
This Rosé de Chevalier 2025 is made from a blend of cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc.
