This 2010 Domaine de Roure displays a purple-tinted ruby red colour. It reveals pepper, raspberry, cherry or even tapenade aromas. The palate is robust and tannic but keeps much freshness with red and black fruit notes, as well as coffee and liquorice. It is in the North of Tain l’Hermitage, on the municipality of Gervans, that Domaine Raymond Roure is located, property of Paul Jaboulet-Aîné since 1996. Its 3.5 hectares of granitic hills orientated South/South-West make a perfect terroir for 40 to 60 year oldSyrah vines that develop there. Thanks to this orientation and this particular terroir, Domaine de Roure is more compared to an Hermitage than to a classic Crozes-Hermitage.

Wine Advocate-Parker : The dense 2010 Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Roure exhibits the granite terroir from which this cuvee is produced, displaying exceptional amounts of minerality/wet stones. Intense, full-bodied and formidably endowed, but not rustic, it offers hints of beef blood, scorched earth, black olives and roast beef. Full and backward as well as impressively pure and well-balanced, it should be forgotten for 7-8 years and drunk over the following 25-30 years.
