The estate

Created in 1919 under the name "Cantine Franco", Nino Franco is one of the oldest estates established at the heart of Veneto, in north-east Italy. In a perpetual quest for excellence and innovation, this family estate revolutionised the image of Prosecco in the 1980s, then considered as a soft, average-quality wine, by releasing the first vintage Prosecco, "Primo Franco", in 1983.

Winemaking and ageing

Pressing, destemming, settling, fermentation at controlled temperatures. Second fermentation in "closed tank". Ageing for 30 days in bottles before distribution.

Blend

The Primo Franco 2019 by Nino Franco is 100% Glera, produced in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G appellation.

This cuvée, which first vintage was launched in 1983, is made from a rigorous selection of grapes which come from a vineyard located on a hillside.

Colour

The wine is a bright and beautiful straw yellow.

Nose

The delicate nose unveils delicious fruity fragrances with a beautiful balance.

Palate

The palate seduces with its creamy texture, fruity aromas (ripe grapeseed, apple) as well as its complex and persistent finish.

Food and wine pairings

Ideal as an aperitif, the Primo Franco 2019 by Nino Franco goes perfectly with fish, dry cakes, fougasse (French flatbread) and fruit-based desserts.

For an optimal tasting, serve between 6 and 8°C.
