A Priorat red wine with complex aromas
The Priorat Martinet Bru by Mas Martinet is a red wine produced in the Priorat appellation. The vineyard benefits from stony but fresh soil. The ageing of the wine is carried out in oak barrels of 4000 L for 17 months on average. The 2010 vintage blends 60% Garnacha, 25% Syrah, 10% Merlot and 5% Cabernet.
At tasting, multiple flavours emerge from the Priorat Martinet Bru 2010 of Mas Martinet. One may note fragrances of licorice, licorice stick, blackberries and rosemary. The wine is structured but composed of elegant and very soft tannins.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2010 Martinet Bru is sourced from a hillside vineyard facing Montsant, so it's cooler and windier and produces fresher wines despite its slate soil. This 2010, mainly Garnacha and Syrah, is fermented in 4,000-liter oak vats where it also ages. The influence of the Syrah is quite noticeable, with beautiful aromas of flowers, smoked bacon and damsons. The palate is medium-bodied, with round, velvety tannins, good freshness, much lighter and balanced than the Martinet Bru of the 1990s. In the future there will be more Carinena in Martinet Bru. Drink 2014-2019.
