Description
A full-bodied Burgundy red wine with a beautiful aromatic framework
The estate
Since 1859, the Maison Louis Jadot has been a symbol in Burgundy. Its history began in 1826 with the acquisition of the Beaune Premier Cru "Clos des Ursules". Owner of prestigious plots, Louis Jadot perpetuates a know-how passed down from generation to generation, thus offering enthusiasts the excellence of Burgundy wines.
At the helm of the house since 1992, Pierre-Henry Gagey handed over the presidency to Thomas Seiter (formerly with Bouchard Père et Fils) in September 2022, entrusting the general management to his son Thibault Gagey.
The vineyard
This Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Maison Louis Jadot comes from an emblematic terroir of the Côte de Nuits, spanning 50 hectares. The second largest owner of the Clos (which has 88 holders), Louis Jadot cultivates nearly 0.5 hectares facing east, on clay-limestone soils recognized for their quality.
Grape variety
This Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Domaine Louis Jadot 2016 is a 100% Pinot Noir.
