Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Menetou-Salon "Mon Loup" 2023 Les Vins d'Emmanuelle
Tasting
Colour
With beautiful clarity, this white wine reveals a bright, luminous shine.
Nose
The bouquet opens with great purity, releasing aromas of citrus fruits and white fruits, along with delicate notes of fresh flowers, all without any heaviness.
Palate
The palate stands out with lovely tension and a finely chiselled acidity that brings plenty of vibrancy. A pleasant roundness envelops flavours of yellow fruits and citrus, underpinned by a persistent minerality. The finish proves long, saline and particularly refined.
Food and wine pairing
This white wine pairs beautifully with seafood such as langoustines or scallops, as well as poached or grilled white fish. It also goes wonderfully with herb-roasted poultry, lightly spiced dishes such as tagine, or regional goat cheeses like Crottin de Chavignol. Finally, it makes a perfect aperitif companion alongside gougères or fish rillettes.
The freshness and mineral elegance of a Menetou-Salon white wine
The estate
Nestled in the heart of the Loire wine region, the selection house Les Vins d'Emmanuelle was founded by Emmanuelle Mellot. After honing her expertise over many years within a prestigious family estate, she decided to establish her own venture. Rather than limiting herself to a single property, her philosophy is built on a careful selection of the finest Loire terroirs. Driven by a desire to pass on know-how gathered across several generations, she is committed to showcasing the authentic expression of each appellation.
The vineyard
The grapes come from the Menetou-Salon appellation, a terroir particularly well suited to the local grape variety's development. The vines are rooted in limestone and clay-limestone soils. This specific geological profile, combined with a temperate climate softened by the river's influence, allows for great aromatic complexity and a highly distinctive minerality.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Menetou-Salon "Mon Loup" 2023 relies on grapes harvested at optimal balance, followed by carefully controlled winemaking to fully honour the identity of the terroir.
Grape variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc.
