Description
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Sancerre 2024 Les Vins d'Emmanuelle
Tasting
Colour
The colour reveals a beautiful white hue.
Nose
The nose is particularly aromatic and complex. It exudes notes of citrus and zest, harmoniously blended with hints of white flowers and subtle nuances of tropical fruit, all underscored by a mineral and herbaceous dimension.
Palate
On the palate, the wine offers a lively attack and great freshness. The pronounced acidity balances perfectly with an incisive minerality, creating an elegant tension and a very characteristic crisp profile.
Food and wine pairing
Thanks to its freshness and citrus notes, this white wine pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as oysters, clams or shellfish. It also pairs perfectly with grilled fish like sea bass or sole, fresh cheeses such as goat cheese, as well as dishes based on green vegetables or white meats.
Service and storage
This Sancerre 2024 can be fully enjoyed right now, to make the most of its liveliness and aromatic brilliance.
The aromatic expression and minerality of a great white wine from Sancerre
The estate
After working for seventeen years at the renowned family estate Alphonse Mellot, whose roots date back to 1513, Emmanuelle Mellot chose to create her own selection: Les Vins d'Emmanuelle. Located in the prestigious Loire region, this brand embodies the artistic vision of its current owner. While drawing on a historic winemaking heritage, she crafts cuvées distinguished by their freshness and floral profile, all while continuing to collaborate with the family's facilities for the aging of her wines.
The vineyard
This wine comes from the renowned Sancerre appellation, recognised for the diversity of its terroirs. The vines flourish across a mosaic of soils made up of white clay-limestone soils, limestone caillottes and clay-siliceous plots. The vineyard is farmed according to the demanding principles of biodynamic agriculture, incorporating the use of natural compost, plant-based preparations and adherence to the astronomical calendar to preserve the ecosystem.
Winemaking and aging
This Sancerre 2024 is crafted within the family's historic facilities. The wine's aging and maturation take place in the cellars of Domaine Alphonse Mellot, where the winemaker works in close collaboration with her brother.
Grape variety
100% Sauvignon Blanc.
