The bright yellow 2006 Ermitage Ex-Voto blanc of E.Guigal mainly gives off white flower and honey fragrances. The wine aged in oak barrels for almost 3 years; one can find a powerful aromatic intensity. The richness of the palate is thick. The terroir is located on a steep vineyard and fully expresses through a combination of 90% Marsanne and 10% Roussanne. The harmony coming out of the blend characterises the whole which, mixed with a very fine and expressive nose, gives a beautiful fleshy fruit on the palate, carrying certain boldness ready to strike again.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2006 Hermitage Ex Voto Blanc is downright decadent, yet is also starting to show some evolution in its caramelized peach, quince and honeyed toast aromas and flavors. It's still impressively concentrated and rich on the palate, and I'm sure will keep for another decade or more, but I would error on the side of caution and drink this over the coming 7-8 years.
