Description
A Fine and Subtle Burgundy Grand Cru
Founded in 1782, Domaine Henri Rebourseau is one of the most prestigious houses in the Côte de Nuits. Inspired by the winegrowing traditions of their ancestors, Bénigne and Louis de Surrel, together with the Bouygues family, place expertise and respect for the vine at the heart of crafting their wines.
The Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016 from Domaine Henri Rebourseau is made from Pinot Noir grown on the Mazy climat. The earliest records of this climat are believed to date back to the 15th century. The plot's brown soil lies over crinoidal limestone.
The 2016 vintage proved excellent for the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy. After a wet spring and a dry summer, the weather remained favourable right up to the harvest, with sunny days and cool nights allowing the berries to reach perfect ripeness while retaining good aromatic freshness.
This Mazy-Chambertin Grand Cru 2016 is a fine and complex wine. The nose reveals aromas of blueberry and dark chocolate. On the palate, subtle black fruit flavours delight with their breadth, evolving towards chocolatey notes. The finish is exceptionally long.
