Gorgeous aromatic intensity on the nose, so full and alive with blackcurrant, black cherry and roses. Intense on the palate: right away a wave of ripe, juicy, almost tart fruit hits the tongue, edged by a soft creaminess that counters the acidity and gives roundness to the expression. Still lightly framed, the tannins aren’t plush; this is more linear and straight for the moment, the oak giving it tension and narrowing the overall focus. But it’s superbly crafted with the juiciest core. Really soft, velvety tannins too, lending a crushed-stone, powdery element to the finish. It still feels extremely youthful, but this will be delicious in a few years. Effortless enjoyment.

Plenty of chocolate and tobacco aromas with currants and blackberries. Medium-bodied with juicy fruit. Fine, creamy tannins. Savory, fruity finish. Better after 2025 but already delicious.

The 2020 Domaine de la Solitude has quite a punchy bouquet with upfront, bold blackberry and bilberry scents—the kind of red that doesn’t hold back and gives you what you want. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a little rough-edged but with decent weight, and a liberal dose of black pepper on the finish. Enjoy this over the next 5–7 years.

Dried flowers, tobacco, smoke, and red fruits combine in the perfume. Medium-bodied, lifted, and silky on the palate, the finish, with its soft, elegant textures and sweet red fruits, feels as good as it tastes. You can enjoy this early or age it for a few years. Drink from 2024-2040.

Fresh and pure, dark-fruited, more Cabernet-driven with aromatic herbs, discreet oak, dense dark fruit, and a fresh, long finish.

The 2020 Domaine De La Solitude (Pessac-Léognan) is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, and in general, 2020 was a good year for Petit Verdot. Deep purple-hued, with a complex, pretty, perfumed bouquet of redcurrants, darker cherries, and sappy herbs, it has an almost salty, liquid rock-like minerality on the palate, is medium-bodied, and has fine tannins as well as outstanding balance. It should evolve for 15+ years.

The 2020 Domaine de la Solitude Rouge is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it leaps with bold notions of warm black cherries, mulberries, and cassis, plus wafts of dark chocolate, menthol, and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate is lively with crunchy red and black fruits supported by soft tannins, finishing with a skip in its step.

A warm nose of cherry and summer flowers. On the palate, a deliciously fleshy texture, with nicely grained tannins, plum and spice aromas, and a delicately roasted mocha finish.

Beautiful fruity expression on the bouquet with a harmony of red and black berries, followed by smoky nuances. On the palate, the wine is delicate, fruity, and endowed with velvety, coating tannins. A pleasant freshness on the finish gives the whole palate a lovely sense of energy.

An original nose, with notes of licorice. At the time of tasting, the wine hadn’t reached its full expression and showed a dip mid-palate. However, it has no flaws, offering harmonious, well-polished tannins and a dense mouthfeel. Time should bring it greater coherence and better reveal its strengths.

From convent vineyards that are managed by Domaine de Chevalier, this wine is elegant, with a good proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and berry flavors to match the structure. It has an attractive, fruity backdrop. Drink from 2026.
