A High-Altitude Corsican Rosé of Refined Elegance
The Estate
Domaine Comte Abbatucci is located at over 100 meters of altitude in the heart of the Taravo valley, in Corse-du-Sud. It is one of the oldest vineyards on the island. Heir to a prestigious lineage – several members of which left their mark on national history, from the Révolution française to the Second Empire – the estate pays homage to its ancestors through cuvées with strong character. Engaged in biodynamics since 2000, the estate is committed to revealing the identity of native Corsican grape varieties while respecting a preserved natural environment.
The Vineyard
Produced as Vin de France, this Faustine Vieilles Vignes rosé comes from north and northwest-facing plots planted on granitic soils typical of the Corsican terroir. This exposure promotes the wine’s freshness and aromatic finesse.
Winemaking and Aging
The grapes, hand-harvested in small trailers to preserve their integrity, are carefully sorted in the vineyard and again at the winery. They are then pressed immediately after destemming. A static settling period of 24 to 48 hours precedes alcoholic fermentation in thermoregulated stainless steel vats. Maturation continues in the same vessels to preserve the purity of the fruit.
Blend
100% sciaccarello, the island’s emblematic grape variety known for its finesse and aromatic complexity.
