Description
A sumptuous, classy and powerful Condrieu
An exceptional Cuvée, the Condrieu Clos Boucher 2013 from Maison Delas Frères is only produced during the best years. Its production in very limited quantities makes it a rare and sought-after wine, among the essential references of the wines of the Northern Rhône Valley, specifically the Condrieu appellation.
A single-parcel wine, the Delas Condrieu Clos Boucher 2013 offers a pure and intense expression of the only grape authorised in this appellation, Viognier. The wine results from a rigorous selection of grapes harvested only from "Clos Boucher". This parcel enjoys an ideal southern exposure which, combined with the typical granitic soils on steep slopes overlooking the Rhone River, constitute a unique mineral soil.
In the glass, the Condrieu Clos Boucher 2013 shows off a delicate, pale gold colour with golden highlights. The aromatic palette allows one to fully appreciate the extent of its personality, evolving over the years. In its youth, the nose of this wine is dominated by fresh exotic fruit. Time in the bottle brings notes of candied fruit, apricot and honey. On the palate, the mouth explodes with flavours, built upon a dense and rich texture, underlined by a slightly woody flavour. Classy, vibrant and mineral, this noble Condrieu leaves an impression of smoothness on the palate. Ready to be enjoyed now or kept until 2020.
