The Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau is an appellation in the Rhône Valley created in 2010, located only in the Rasteau commune. The vines enjoy a Mediterranean climate and are located on various soils like clay-limestone, fossilised marl and pebbly sandstone. The Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau produces only red wine composed of at least 50% Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and sometimes even Carignan. The wines from the Côtes du Rhône Rasteau Villages have an intense colour. They develop fruity aromas (ripe fruit, black fruit, candied fruit), as well as spicy, floral (violet) and forest floor notes. They have a great balance that combines finesse, complexity, generosity, roundness and a beautiful structure with magnificent tannins.
