Aromas of currants, fresh tobacco, bark and sliced mushrooms. Some lemon zest and chocolate, too. It’s medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins. Supple and balanced. Polished finish. 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon. Drink from 2025.

The 2019 Simard has a pretty bouquet of brambly red fruit, light floral scents and a touch of tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, and balanced, if just a tad conservative on the finish. It has an easy-drinking ambience about it. Fine.

The 2019 Simard is a blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple in color, it opens with vibrant notes of raspberry coulis, plum preserves, and rosehip tea, underpinned by baked plums and boysenberries plus a hint of cracked pepper. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is layered with crunchy red and black berries, supported by rounded tannins and great freshness, finishing perfumed.

Dark, bright color of moderate intensity. Very aromatic nose with ripe fruit. A tender palate with a flavorful, rather airy body, becoming silky from mid-palate through the finish. This wine lingers long on its aroma, with no tannin.

Aged for 12 months in wood, the wine has polished ripe berry flavors over generous tannins. Its juicy density is lightly textured with spice and blackberry flavors at the end. Drink from 2025.
