Lightly toasty, with a brioche frame around creamed yellow apple, verbena and melon flavors. The brioche note lingers prettily. Drink now through 2021. 3,600 cases made, 500 cases imported.

93–95. Barrel Sample. While this wine is crisp, it is also full of ripe apricot and spice tones as well as pink grapefruit and intense acidity. The balance is great, setting the wine up for some excellent aging.

Complex nose of lambswool, spice, toast and ripe tropical fruits. Mature on the palate with developed notes.

A succulent and punchy style with very assertive, yellow-grapefruit and lemon aromas and a super concentrated, long, focused palate that is very tightly contained for now. The finish holds so long. Age without reservation. Try from 2021.

Subtle aroma of ripe citrus that becomes more floral with air. This has excellent creamy depth, more lees than oak. Attractive slight chew in the texture. Long and fresh and the complexity as much from the texture as the flavour. (JH)

I loved the white from this terrific estate. The 2016 Château Latour-Martillac Blanc has impressive notes of caramelized limes, tangerine, and lemon curd in a medium-bodied, pure, elegant package. It shows some salty minerality on the finish, has good acidity, and should keep for 10-15 years.

Pale yellow. Fragrant greengage bouquet, followed by flinty notes and white pineapple. On the palate, slender and finely textured, with a citrus-lemon essence; in the mid-finish, white flowers and sandalwood. Already really enjoyable to drink!

Kunz Fassprobe 17: Fresh, powerful, delicately off-dry bouquet with notes of white peach, mirabelles, green herbs and caraway. Slender, fragrant palate with fine fruit, well-integrated ripe acidity, a silky texture, good aromatic definition and a nicely dry finish. Can still improve.

A brilliant Pessac white at five years old, probably the upper limit of where most of us feel comfortable saving a white wine to be sure of guarding its fresh fruit flavours. You have zero issues if you have done so with this wine - it is dripping with fresh juicy acidities, beautiful ripe lemon, peach and pear flavours and soft white pepper and sage spices. Just gorgeous, taut, balanced and delicious. 25% new oak. harvest September 6 to 20.

The white Latour-Martillac 2016 offers up notes of lemongrass, lime leaves, and pear drops, with a hint of straw. Medium-bodied, the palate is minerally and refreshing, with a saline lift to the finish.

Fresh yellow fruit, gentle spices, taut, saline, very elegant, fresh and refined.

Light golden yellow. A complex, fairly intense bouquet with notes of passion fruit and peaches, followed by a hint of orange zest. On the palate, the wine is approachable and ready to be enjoyed. It is slender and well supported by its structure, with a fine bitterness that underpins the fruity intensity of the finish.

Pale color. Medium-intensity nose, fruity and subtle. Pleasant on the palate, but a little too easy. Medium length.
