An elegant and aromatic red wine from Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux
The estate
Château d'Aiguilhe is today one of the most beautiful estates of Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux on the right bank of Bordeaux. During the Hundred Years War, this château served an important role as a fortified agricultural exploitation. Today entirely dedicated to viticulture, the property has belonged to the Comtes Von Neipperg vineyards since 1998.
The vineyard
The Château d'Aiguilhe vineyards extend over almost 90 hectares in the heart of the Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. The vineyard is exclusively planted in clay-limestone and clay-loam soils.
The winemaking and ageing
Vinification in oak and concrete tanks. Extraction by pneumatic punching down. Vatting for 40 days. Ageing on fine lees, carried out in French oak barrels (30% new).
Blend
The 2020 Château d’Aiguilhe is made from a blend of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%).
