Since the 1970s, François Mitjavile has embodied a singular and counter-current vision of Bordeaux wine, founded on a profoundly artisanal and intuitive approach. This philosophy, perpetuated today by his sons, rests on a permanent questioning of established conventions and a tireless quest for authenticity.

Over time, the Mitjavile Family has gradually extended its estate to four exceptional crus: Tertre Rotebœuf (Saint-Émilion Grand Cru), Château Roc de Cambes (Côtes de Bourg), Domaine de Cambes (Bordeaux) and, more recently, Domaine de l'Aurage (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux). The latter was established in 2007 under the direction of Louis Mitjavile, François's son, and his wife Caroline. Its 20-hectare vineyard in a single block reveals wines of silky elegance, both dense and rich. Ageing in French oak barrels, nearly 80% of which are new, enhances their character.

Creators of iconic wines, ardently sought after by connoisseurs for their rare elegance and exclusivity, the Mitjaviles nevertheless cultivate discretion. Their shared philosophy is built on four fundamental pillars: excellence of terroir, with rare clay-limestone hillside microclimates; celebration of the vintage, the family having renounced producing top cuvées and second wines to allow each bottle to reflect the unique character of the year; aromatic refinement, offering an expressive structure of great intensity, full of grace, freshness and digestibility; and finally the capacity for evolution, producing wines that are delicious from their youth, which mature magnificently over three to four decades.

Produced in very limited quantities, these wines seduce discerning enthusiasts with their inimitable and timeless style.
