Description
The delicacy and aromatic finesse of a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé
The estate
With origins dating back to 1647 following its acquisition by the Capdemourlin family, the Château Cap de Mourlin is one of the oldest estates of the Saint-Émilion appellation. This family property began a new chapter in its history in 1983 through renovation works on its facilities to enhance the quality of the wines produced from this exceptional terroir.
The vineyard
Located on the northern slopes of Saint-Émilion, the vineyard of Château Cap de Mourlin covers 14 hectares. The vines, averaging 34 years old, are planted on a clay-limestone and clay-siliceous terroir.
Winemaking and aging
Winemaking in stainless steel vats with external temperature control. Malo-lactic fermentation takes place in barrels, as does the aging for a period of 15 to 18 months (50% new barrels, 50% once-used barrels).
Blend
Château Cap de Mourlin 2020 is made from a blend of Merlot (65%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
