Description
The elegance of a Second Wine from Saint-Émilion
The estate
On the south slope of the medieval town of Saint-Émilion lies a legendary estate, the Château Ausone, whose roots stretch back to Roman times. Named after the poet Ausone, this vineyard embodies more than a wine: it is the living heir to a millennia-old winemaking tradition, a symbol of Bordeaux excellence.
The vineyard
Covering nearly 7 hectares, the Château Ausone vineyard is situated on a hillside, benefiting from ideal exposure and a unique terroir. The soils, composed of a mixture of clay on limestone with starfish fossils, give these great Saint-Émilion wines a minerality and finesse that have made the estate renowned. The exceptional geographical location and the small size of the estate allow for particular attention to each vine, thus ensuring consistent quality, vintage after vintage.
The wine
Chapelle d'Ausone is the Second Wine of the estate.
The appellation "Chapelle" evokes the small chapel of the estate, the silent witness of the generations that have worked these lands and affirmed the singularity of the wines that come from them.
Blend
Chapelle d'Ausone is ule fruit of a blend of cabernet franc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon.
