Roundness and balance in a vintage Brut champagne

The estate

Founded in 1808, the Champagne Henriot house has passionately and rigorously cultivated Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs for eight generations, this noble grape variety that would later define the style of each Henriot cuvée.

Highly appreciated at the Dutch court, Henriot subsequently became a benchmark brand among the European aristocracy.

Benefiting from an aging period and a quantity of reserve wines specific to each cuvée, Henriot champagnes stand out for their finesse, exceptional elegance, complexity, and radiant richness.

The vineyard

Maison Henriot oversees a 35-hectare vineyard, partly planted on the finest Premier and Grand Cru Champagne terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.

The cuvée

This 2000 vintage champagne is crafted from more than 15 crus from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Chouilly, Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Montgueux, Avenay, Verzy, Verzenay, and Épernay.

The vintage

A dry, mild winter favored budburst in mid-April. A rainy spring was offset by very dry May and June. While July was marked by violent hailstorms affecting part of the vineyard, the mildness of August allowed maturities to be refined before harvest began on September 11, combining quality and quantity.

Grape varieties

Chardonnay (55%) from the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noir (45%) from the Montagne de Reims.
