Appearance
The robe reveals a luminous straw-yellow hue, adorned with golden highlights.

Nose
The nose displays lovely aromatic complexity, blending notes of candied citrus, stone fruit and white flowers, subtly underscored by hints of sweet spices and toasted almonds.

Palate
On the palate, this white wine combines a generous, flavourful body with a precise structure. Its delicate texture is energised by pronounced, sometimes saline minerality, extending into a lingering finish.

Food and wine pairings

This wine pairs beautifully with fine-sauced noble fish, shellfish such as lobster, or delicate white meats served with cream and mushrooms. It also goes very well with soft-ripened cheeses.

Serving and cellaring

Endowed with fine ageing potential, this Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Maltroie" 2024 can be enjoyed now or laid down in the cellar until around 2034.

The elegance and minerality of a Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru white wine crafted by Bruno Colin

The estate

Born from the division of the family estate in 2003, the Domaine Bruno Colin is located in Chassagne-Montrachet, in the heart of Burgundy, France. Led by Bruno Colin, who crafted his first vintage in 2004, the estate spans approximately 8.55 hectares divided into around fifty micro-parcels. Breaking away from the rounder style of his elders, the winemaker favours an approach focused on the purity and minerality of the terroirs. The estate stands out for its demanding, environmentally respectful viticulture, aiming to offer a crystal-clear expression of its appellations.

The vineyard

The Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Maltroie" cuvée comes from a small 0.55-hectare plot located in the "Ez Crets" lieu-dit. Resting on clay-limestone soils, this terroir is cultivated according to organic principles, including regular ploughing and mechanical soil work. The vineyard is distinguished by a fine diversity of vine ages, with stocks planted in 1952, 1960, 1989 and 2023, bringing both depth and vibrancy to the harvest.

Winemaking and ageing

The grapes destined for this Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "La Maltroie" 2024 are hand-harvested and undergo rigorous double sorting, first in the vineyard and then in the cellar. Following gentle pneumatic pressing and settling, fermentation takes place on fine lees. Ageing is carried out over 12 months in 350-litre oak barrels, comprising 15 to 20% new wood. The wine is then blended and refined in stainless steel tanks for 4 to 6 months before bottling.

Grape variety

100% Chardonnay.
