Sancerre Demoiselle 2014 from Alphonse Mellot: a refreshing white wine

The Sancerre Demoiselle of Alphonse Mellot is a single-varietal Sauvignon Blanc white wine produced in the Sancerre appellation. Planted in 1951, the vines are located on a vineyard with an area of 0.50 hectares and tended to with practices of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The vines are planted in soils made of clay and flint. The Sancerre Demoiselle of Alphonse Mellot is first aged for 10 months in wooden vats before finishing "en mass" for 2 to 6 months.

The Sancerre Demoiselle 2014 of Alphonse Mellot reveals saline aromas mixed with notes of pink grapefruit. On the palate, the wine appears to be crystalline, revealing a touch of oak from its barrel ageing, as well as a subtle minerality (flint).
