Edmond 2014 from Alphonse Mellot : A rich and gourmet Sancerre

This single-variety Sauvignon Blanc is produced in the Sancerre appellation. Edmond from Alphonse Mellot is a 7 hectare vineyard. This cuvee is produced from vines that have been planted on limestone and Kimmeridgian marl for over 100 years. The wine is aged in barrels for 11 months in wooden vats and new demi-muids before being blended together for at least 12 months. 

Edmond 2014 from Alphonse Mellot has a golden-yellow colour and with bright green reflections. Rich aromas of freshly cut grass, liquorice and anise, honey and light nights of brioche. A delicious and rich wine that reveals flavours of lemons, vanilla and Muscat. With age Edmond 2014 develops minerality, butter and empyreumatic flavours. The finish is slightly spicy with notes of minerality.
