Château de Galifay
The 30 hectares which make up the vineyard of Château Galifay are located in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley, in Sainte Cécile les Vignes, a commune not far from Avignon. The terroir is situated on the ancient bed of the river Aygues. Thus, a subsoil of pebbles and alluvial deposits, which would have been deposited by the river, can be found here. The composition of the soils and sub-soils allows for deep rooting of the vines, providing the roots with freshness conducive to the excellent ripening of the grapes. Château Galifay quivers under the blustering Mistral and benefits from a micro-climate which is favorable for the cultivation of the finest Rhône Valley grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan). Céline Aubert, who manages the estate, continues the family tradition and strives to produce complex wines, which are refined and full of passion.
