The elegance and minerality of a white wine from the Rhône Valley
The estate
Founded in 1996 in Lourmarin, in the heart of Provence, the house of Tardieu Laurent has established itself as a leading micro-négociant in the Rhône Valley. Created by Michel Tardieu, the company stands out for its quest for exceptional terroirs and its commitment to biodynamic practices. Today, Michel Tardieu still leads the estate, supported by the new generation, his children Bastien and Camille. Favouring old vines and trusted relationships with winegrowers, the estate crafts authentic wines that faithfully express the richness of their origins.
The vineyard
The grapes for this cuvée come from prestigious terroirs within the Côtes du Rhône appellation, including declassified crus from renowned communes such as Lirac, Rasteau, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise and Cairanne. The vines, often between fifty and a hundred years old, thrive on sandy soils. The estate favours low yields and farming practices that respect the surrounding ecosystems to ensure optimal fruit concentration.
The vintage
The year 2024 tested the winegrowers' expertise with a series of complex weather events. Despite these challenging climatic conditions, the resilience of the old vines, thanks to their deep roots, combined with carefully managed yields, allowed for the harvest of fruit with authentic quality, faithfully reflecting the particularities of this demanding season.
Winemaking and aging
The making of the Nobles Origines 2024 relies on a meticulous, minimal-intervention process. The wine undergoes an initial ageing period of ten months in one- or two-wine oak barrels, sourced from the prestigious forests of Allier and Tronçais. This stage is followed by eight months of maturation in large wooden foudres, allowing the wine to integrate harmoniously while preserving its purity, before bottling without fining or filtration.
