Description
A refined and rich white wine from Aloxe-Corton by Louis Max
The estate
An essential reference among Burgundy wines, Maison Louis Max, founded in 1859, watches over twenty hectares of vines which are spread over prestigious appellations.
Although the Genevan businessman Stanko Subotić acquired the estate, this lover of fine Burgundian terroir has surrounded himself with illustrious experts such as Jean-François Joliette and David Duban in order to produce fine wines that authentically and excellently express all the potential of these exceptional terroirs.
Louis Max is one of the largest organically farmed and Ecocert-certified estates. The vineyards are managed with the utmost respect for nature and with minimal human intervention. These approaches result in wines that are recognised by the finest international critics.
The vineyard
Louis Max's Aloxe-Corton Village BIO 2019 stems from a vineyard located in the eponymous village, whose name Aloxe meant "stony hillsides" in Gallic. Located to the north of Beaune, this perfectly exposed terroir is planted on clay and marl soils and produces fine Aloxe-Corton wines.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are rigorously sorted before vinification. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 months.
