The estate
Founded in 1797, Louis Latour is now represented by the 11th generation, headed by Louis-Fabrice Latour. As a négociant-éleveur, Maison Louis Latour owns the largest Grand Cru estate in Burgundy.
The vineyard
In 1891, the Latour family acquired the château located on the Route des Cortons, previously owned by the Grancey family. Produced only in exceptional years, this Château Corton Grancey Grand cru by Louis Latour is made from grapes sourced from five Burgundian climats (Bressandes, Perrières, Grèves, Clos du Roi, and Chaumes). Averaging 40 years old, these vineyards are planted on marl and limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
Once the manual harvest is complete, fermentation takes place in the traditional way in open vats with 100% malolactic fermentation. Aging lasts 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (35% new barrels) from the Louis Latour cooperage. Following this parcel-based aging, only the best barrels are selected for the blending of this great Corton wine.
Blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
