Description
The balance and precision of a Burgundy Grand Cru red wine
The estate
The Maison Louis Jadot, established since 1859, is a true reference in Burgundy. Its journey began with the acquisition of a parcel in 1826. The trading activity of Maison Louis Jadot then allowed it to become known worldwide. Today, and since 1992, the house is managed by Pierre-Henry Gagey, who strives to maintain the concept of a Burgundy accessible to all those seeking quality wines.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, the Clos de la Roche is a Grand Cru adjacent to the village of Gevrey Chambertin. An emblematic Burgundian terroir, the Clos de la Roche is east-facing, with clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
During the manually conducted harvest, the berries are stored in small crates to preserve the essence of the fruit. Once in the winery, the berries mature in open wooden or stainless steel vats. During fermentation, two punch-downs per day are carried out. Finally, this Clos de la Roche wine is aged for 18 months in barrels crafted by the Maison Louis Jadot cooperage.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
