Description
A fruity and delicate red wine from Saint-Joseph
The estate
Since its creation in 1946, the Ferraton Père & Fils estate has become an emblematic reference for fine Rhône Valley wines.
For several generations, the Ferraton Père & Fils estate has been advocating a viticulture that respects both the vines and people and produces wines that highlight the potential and aromatic finesse of great appellations such as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu....
The vineyard
The house watches over an exceptional vineyard that has been certified in organic farming since 1998 and Demeter in 2010.
The wine
Ferraton Père & Fils' Lieu-dit "Paradis" comes from a parcel of land that is located in the heart of the Saint-Joseph appellation, resting on sedimentary soils composed of granite and loess.
Vinification and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes are completely destemmed. The wine is vinified in concrete vats for around 4 weeks, with pumping over and punching down to encourage optimal extraction. The wine is aged in oak barrels - 10% of which are new - for 12 to 14 months.
The blend
Ferraton Père & Fils' 2017 Saint-Joseph Lieu-dit "Paradis" is a 100% Syrah.
