Syrah red wine produced in the appellation of Cornas, the Cornas Place-dit "The Eygats" of Ferraton Père & Fils benefits from vineyards planted on a hill with an altitude of 300 meters, made up of "gore": decomposed granite. The ageing of the wine is carried out in oak barrels (10% in new barrels), over an average period of 12 to 14 months, depending on the vintage.
The "Les Eygats" 2016 of Ferraton Père & Fils boasts an intense ruby colour with violet tones. On the nose, combining purity and depth, this wine gives off aromas of ripe fruit, such as raspberry and blackcurrant. The palate is consistent with the nose, blending purity, depth and minerality. Some flavours of ripe berries, spices and Morello cherries also appear before a long and persistent finish.
