The vineyard

The estate watches over an exceptional vineyard certified for Organic Agriculture since 1998 and Demeter since 2010.

The wine

The cuvée Lieu Dit Bonneveaux 2017 of Ferraton Père & Fils is derived from a parcel located at 350 metres of altitude in Tournon-sur-Rhone, within the appellation of Saint-Joseph. This land is composed of light granite and gore.

Winemaking and ageing

Following the harvest, the grape bunches are subjected to a total destemming. Winemaking in concrete tanks for about 4 weeks is accompanied by pour-overs and punch-downs to promote optimal extraction. The ageing is carried out in oak barrels - 10% of which are new - over a period of 12 to 14 months.

The Lieu Dit Bonneveaux 2017 of Ferraton Father & Son is a 100% Syrah.

Tasting

Colour

The wine is of an intense deep garnet colour.

Nose

The powerful nose combines fruity fragrances (black fruits) and menthol notes.

Palate

Perfectly balanced, the palate mixes aromas of black fruit and zan with a tannic frame of a beautiful delicacy. Over the course of the tasting, the palace seduces with its persistence and minerality.
