L'Eglantine 2016 of Ferraton Père & Fils : an elegant and mineral red wine from Côte-Rôtie

The Côte-Rôtie L'Eglantine of Ferraton Père & Fils is a single-varietal Syrah red wine produced in the Côte-Rôtie appellation. The vineyard, planted on terraces of micaschistes and granite, benefits from the diverse terroirs of the Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde. The Ferraton Père & Fils Eglantine is aged in oak barrels for an average of 16 to 18 months, depending on the vintage.

With its deep ruby colour, the Côte-Rôtie L'Eglantine 2016 of Ferraton Père & Fils reveals a clever combination of spice, red berries, black olives and violets on the nose. L’Eglantine 2016 shows a magnificent length on the palate, revealing itself to be both mineral and elegant. One can appreciate delicious touches of truffle, along with a well-integrated woodiness and a great finesse.

    Wine Advocate-Parker :
Ferraton's 2016 Cote Rotie l'Eglantine is a solid effort in a savory style. Hints of roasted meat, black olive and herbs mark the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is supple and smooth, gliding to a silky finish.
