Description
The estate
Located south of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Rhône Valley, the Domaine Saint Préfert, established in 1920, was taken over by Isabel Ferrando in 2003. Passionate about her terroir, this former senior banker turned winemaker carries out a rigorous mass selection of the estate's grape varieties.
Coming from a vineyard that is conducted in biological and biodynamic agriculture, the exceptional wines from the Saint Préfert estate are recognised by numerous international critics.
The vineyard
Ce Clos Beatus Ille 2020 is a Côtes du Rhône wine that comes from a vineyard planted on soil made up of red clay and rounded pebbles.
Winemaking and ageing
Following the harvest, the grapes are 100% destemmed then subjected to traditional vinification. The ageing of this Rhône Valley wine is over a period of 6 months in a concrete vat.
Blend
Le Clos Beatus Ille 2020 is made from a blend of grenache and cinsault.
