The estate

Located in Prémeaux-Prissey, Domaine des Perdrix was taken over by the Devillard family in 1996. It is now run by Amaury and Aurore Devillard and forms part of Domaines Devillard. This Burgundy estate covers approximately 15 hectares in the Côte de Nuits, including a near-monopoly on the Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru "Aux Perdrix" as well as a parcel in Echezeaux Grand Cru. This dual identity, combining little-known terroirs with prestigious appellations, shapes the estate's reputation in Burgundy.

The vineyard

This Vosne-Romanée cuvée comes from three climats located at the northern edge of the appellation, close to Vougeot Grand Cru: Les Quartiers de Nuits, Les Hautes Maizières and Les Chalandins, covering a total area of approximately 1.05 hectares. The soils are clay-limestone with a predominance of clay, with the crinoidal limestone bedrock characteristic of the Les Hautes Maizières climat. The vines, planted between 1921 and 1980, give this terroir fine ripeness and real depth.

Vinification and ageing

For the production of the Vosne-Romanée Village 2024, the grapes undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 4 to 6 days, followed by a fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The maceration, lasting approximately 15 days, is accompanied by regular punch-downs, with around 30% of the harvest vinified as whole bunches. The free-run juice and press juice are aged separately in 228-litre Burgundy barrels, approximately 30% of which are new oak, for 16 to 18 months.
