Tasting
Colour
This white wine from France displays a pale to golden yellow hue, with brilliant clarity, enhanced by delicate green or golden highlights.
Nose

Palate
The palate offers a refined texture and an elegant structure, marrying the richness of stone fruit with crisp mineral acidity. The long, dynamic finish stretches out with citrus notes and a subtle salinity.
Food and wine pairing
This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish such as scallops or lobster in cream sauce, as well as with poached or grilled white fish. It also goes wonderfully with white meats and poultry in mushroom sauce, or with aged hard cheeses such as Comté.

The mineral and elegant expression of a Burgundy Premier Cru
The estate
Founded in 1945 in the heart of the Mâconnais region in Burgundy, Domaine Cordier Père et Fils is now run by Christophe Cordier. He has driven a decisive shift by focusing exclusively on estate bottling. The vineyard spans approximately 30 to 31.5 hectares across more than 120 plots, forming a true mosaic of terroirs. A staunch advocate of sustainable viticulture, the current owner applies organic and biodynamic farming principles, along with distinctive practices such as vine braiding.
The vineyard
The "Les Perrières" climat, classified as Premier Cru since 2020 within the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, spans 5.79 hectares. Ideally exposed to the southeast and east, on the rear face of the Roche de Solutré, the vines thrive on the mid-slope. The soils consist of alluvium, deep silt and clay, resting on a subsoil streaked with limestone and calcareous marl, providing conditions conducive to a beautiful mineral tension.
The vintage
The year 2023 began with a mild, sunny winter, followed by budbreak in late March. Spring and early summer were marked by high temperatures. However, the summer season maintained moderate conditions with adequate rainfall and significant temperature swings between day and night, encouraging balanced physiological development. The harvest took place under warm conditions in early September, ending in a cooler atmosphere.
Winemaking and aging
For this Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Les Perrières" 2023, the grapes are hand-harvested plot by plot before undergoing whole-bunch pneumatic pressing. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts. The wine is then aged on its original lees for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels, custom-toasted at the estate. Bottling is done by gravity, without fining and with minimal filtration, using state-of-the-art gravity-flow facilities.
Grape variety
100% Chardonnay.
