Robert Parker

William Kelley

The 2020 Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Altitude 421 Bignon is living up to its fine showing from barrel, bursting with scents of red berries, plums, cinnamon, raw cocoa and sweet spices. Medium-bodied, lively and ethereal, it's lively and fine-boned, with melting tannins and a saline finish.

Wine Spectator

Bruce Sanderson

Perfumed and refined, featuring rose, cherry, currant and mineral aromas and flavors. Its silky texture is integrated with the firm structure, with fruit, mineral and spice elements that stretch out. Fine length. Best from 2026 through 2038. 75 cases imported.

James Suckling

A revolutionary wine, even for this cool-climate appellation. Very cool red-cherry and cranberry nose with a slew of herbal nuances. A lot riper, rounder and more concentrated on the palate than the nose suggested. Very long, sleek and straight palate with tons of mountain freshness and wet-stone minerality at the very exciting finish. The name comes from the fact that the Bignon site is 421 meters above sea level. From biodynamically grown grapes and matured in 500-liter oak barrels. Drink or hold.
