An exceptional red wine from Hermitage

An exceptional wine from the prestigious "Les Bessards" terroir, the Les Bessards 2015 from Maison Delas Frères is produced in the Hermitage red appellation and is one of the great wines of the Northern Rhône Valley.

The Delas Hermitage Les Bessards 2015 is produced from grapes harvested only from the oldest parcel of this area called "Les Bessards", which enjoys an exceptional location in the heart of the hills of Hermitage. The unique granite soils of the area are made up of sand covered by mica-schist and gneiss, also combined with alluvial pebbles, giving the wine a unique personality.

A single-variety wine produced in very limited quantities, the Hermitage Les Bessards 2015 offers a full expression of Syrah, the vine of choice in this region marked so strongly by minerality.

In the glass, the Delas Hermitage Les Bessards 2015 presents a dark and brilliantly deep red colour. Ripe and elegant, the aromatic notes perceived on the nose offer black fruits, reminiscent of blackcurrant and blackberry, evolving into delicate floral notes, such as violet. On the palate, the wine reveals itself to be concentrated with fruity flavours. Ample and dense, it shows off well-structured tannins, very present but finely polished, to achieve a perfect balance. A high-class Hermitage, this wine is ready to be enjoyed now or kept until 2020, by which time it will blossom fully and reveal all of its complexity.
