Description

A smooth and complex Crozes-Hermitage wine by Delas

A single-parcel wine produced in very limited quantities and only in the best years, Le Clos 2014 of Delas Frères offers a unique expression of the largest region of the Northern Rhône Valley, the Crozes-Hermitage appellation.

Le Clos 2014 is a cuvee produced from grapes harvested from the Clos parcel, located on the plain of Chassis, on the left bank of the Rhône River. The vines planted in the hillsides enjoy an ideal southern exposure and granite soils.

A single-varietal wine, the Delas Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos 2014 clearly expresses this regions’s grape of choice, Syrah grown on a particular soil.

In the glass the Crozes-Hermitage Le Clos 2014 displays a deep ruby-red colour with garnet reflections. A great vintage for the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, the Clos 2014 reveals an intense and complex aromatic palette. In its youth, this wine offers notes of black fruit compote, which evolve over time to include leather and animal notes, reminiscent of musk or game. On the palate, this wine reveals a perfect balance, and an remarkably elegant, velvety texture. This wine of great persistence ends with beautiful length, punctuated by beautiful notes of ripe fruit. A vintage ready to drink now, which can also be kept until 2024.
