2009 Priorat, Catalonia.
The Clos Mogador 2009 Priorat is 44% Grenache, 21% Carignan, 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and 16% Syrah. The wine was produced from a vineyard of 20 hectares which grows on a mountainous environment with terraces and hills situated at 350 metres high. The 2009 Clos Mogador was aged 18 months in barrels (50% new ageing barrels). The wine beautifully expresses its complex terroir and reveals a good aromatic finesse. Seductive notes of eucalyptus, vanilla and incense are given off. The palate reveals a precise and distinguished wine. The latter is intense and concentrated as well as perfectly balanced, the spices reappear on finish.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2009 Clos Mogador has a more opulent, luscious bouquet than the 2008, with lifted, high-toned floral fruit (iodine, star anise and sloe) and a smudge of warm alcohol. The palate is full-bodied with succulent, gamey dark fruits and an underlying earthiness that should develop with bottle age. It exudes fine tension and poise and is very expressive on the structured finish, which will mellow nicely.
