Description

A delicate and aromatic Saint-Émilion wine

The estate

Located within the Saint-Émilion appellation on the right bank of Bordeaux, the Château Quinault l’Enclos belongs to the renowned Château Cheval Blanc, Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" of Saint-Émilion. The winemaking of Château Quinault l’Enclos benefits from the same rigor as that of Château Cheval Blanc’s wines.

The vineyard

Located near the Dordogne, the vineyard of Château Quinault l’Enclos covers 19 hectares of vines within the Saint-Émilion appellation.

The vintage

Early 2020 was marked by dry conditions that promoted an early bud break. March began with significant rainfall before a spell of great mildness, stimulating rapid vegetative growth. The strong pressure of downy mildew at the start of the vegetative cycle was gradually neutralized by the dry, warm conditions. While April, May, and June were temperate and rainy, the summer was extremely dry with very high temperatures, causing significant water stress. A rainy episode during the week of August 15 was beneficial to the vineyard. 2020 remains one of the hottest years recorded since 1994. The harvest was homogeneous and of excellent quality.

Blend

Merlot (78%) and Cabernet Franc (22%).
