Château Les Grands Chênes 2015

Bordeaux - Medoc - Red Château Les Grands Chênes Château Les Grands Chênes 2015 1757/15
  • Parker : 86-88

2015 Medoc Cru Bourgeois from Bordeaux.

The vineyards of Château Les Grands Chênes are situated around a former fortress from the 16th century. The 40 year-old vines on average stretch on about 38 hectares. Located in the Médoc region, the 2015 Château Les Grands Chênes is 74% Merlot and 26% Cabernet Sauvignon
This garnet 2015 Médoc gives off very expressive fruity aromas and has good amplitude. The fleshy, tannic and dense 2015 Château Les Grands Chênes offers an excellent volume and a good texture

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2015 Château les Grands Chenes is a blend of 74% Merlot and 26% Merlot picked between 28 September and 14 October at 45 hl/ha. It has a brisk and lively bouquet with blackberry and bilberry fruit, the oak nicely integrated, although I discern more sophistication at the moment with the La Tour Carnet, its Haut-Médoc cousin. The palate is medium-bodied with thickset tannin, dense in the mouth and just feeling a little over-extracted towards the finish that struggles to free itself from the term - monolithic. There is a good wine here, but the La Tour Carnet shows the pedigree.
