The 2014 Premier Cru Classé Chateau Coutet once again confirms its reputation of an airy, precise, sharp and nervous dessert wine. In 2014, this Barsac subtlely combined aromatic freshness (due to passerillage), density and gustatory depth (noble rot effect). This wine gives off unexpected litchi, fresh mango and citrus (grapefruit) notes, followed by acacia flower and candied lemon hints. The latter is enhanced by an acid accent which gives a complementary freshness. The mineral hint of the attack guarantees the legendary tension of the wine. This Barsac offers concentration, and liqueur purity (vibrant botrytis) sensation, straightforwardness and length. The superb finish is dynamic and persistent.
