Description
The typicity of a Premier Grand Cru Classé from Saint-Émilion
The estate
1er Grand Cru Classé B, the Château Beau-Séjour Bécot shines on the Saint-Émilion appellation, on the right bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
The vineyard covers nearly 18 hectares, of which a little over 15 hectares are in production. The vines, averaging 33 years old, are planted on clay-limestone soils of the western plateau of Saint-Émilion.
Vinification and aging
Hand harvesting is followed by destemming and manual sorting. Parcel-by-parcel vinification. Thermoregulated vatting. Traditional alcoholic fermentation in inverted conical tanks. Maceration for 28 days. Gentle extraction. Maceration in an oxygen-free environment. Aging lasts 16 months in barrels (65% new, 35% aging vats, amphorae, 20 hl foudres).
Blend
Château Beau-Séjour Bécot 2020 comes from a blend of merlot (85%), cabernet franc (13%), cabernet sauvignon (2%).
