A powerful, structured Grand Cru from the Côte de Beaune

The estate

Founded in 1720 by Edme Champy, a cooper by trade, Champy remains Burgundy’s oldest wine merchant house. Established in the heart of Beaune, it owns 21 hectares of vineyards stretching from Volnay to Corton-Charlemagne, as well as historic 15th-century cellars. Owned by the Advini group and led by Dimitri Bazas since 2014, the House stands out for its pioneering commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture as early as 2007, perpetuating centuries-old artisanal know-how.

The vineyard

Corton Grand Cru covers 90 hectares spread across the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny, on the Montagne de Corton in Côte de Beaune. The Climat Le Rognet enjoys a prime amphitheater-like setting, at an altitude between 250 and 330 meters. This distinctive topography promotes optimal ripening of the grapes and contributes to the complexity of the wines produced.

Winemaking and aging

The Corton Grand Cru "Le Rognet" 2008 is crafted according to traditional Burgundian methods, allowing the character of the terroir and the vintage’s typicity to be fully expressed.
