Characteristics and Tasting Tips for Comtes de Champagne Grands Crus Blanc de Blancs 2014 de Taittinger
Tasting
Color
The color reveals a crystalline, bright yellow, enhanced by delicate silvery highlights. The effervescence is characterized by fine, silky bubbles that rise with elegance.
Nose
The bouquet unveils remarkable complexity with chalky and mineral notes accented by iodized nuances. These mingle with pastry and brioche aromas evoking lemon meringue tart, accompanied by hints of hazelnut and almond. The nose is further enriched by expressions of citrus, white flowers, white fruits and aromatic herbs.
Palate
On the palate, the effervescence caresses with delicacy while imparting dynamism. Freshness prevails with a noble bitterness that carries through to a persistent saline finish.
Food and Wine Pairings
This champagne pairs perfectly with a scallop carpaccio, blue lobster or salmon roe. It also elegantly accompanies a sole meunière served with julienned vegetables or a Brillat-Savarin cheese garnished with spiced roasted apples or pears.
Serving and Cellaring
Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2014 is best enjoyed at a temperature of 11°C. This champagne has a cellaring potential until around 2034.

The Estate
Founded in 1932 by Pierre Taittinger upon the acquisition of Château de la Marquetterie, the Maison Taittinger ranks among the last major independent family Champagne houses. Led by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and his two children, Clovis and Vitalie, Maison Taittinger has succeeded in preserving a family soul while producing champagnes resolutely focused on a chardonnay style. Since January 1, 2020, Vitalie Taittinger has been President of Maison de Champagne Taittinger.
The Vineyard
Maison de Champagne Taittinger's vineyard spans 288 hectares of vines and comprises 37 different crus. Taittinger is thus the third largest vineyard in Champagne. The entire vineyard is certified High Environmental Value.
The Cuvée
This prestigious cuvée comes exclusively from the finest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. The grapes are harvested from the Grand Crus villages of Avize, Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, exceptional terroirs renowned for their ability to reveal the full nobility of chardonnay. The dosage of between 8 and 9 g/L gives this Blanc de Blancs champagne a balanced profile between freshness and roundness.
Winemaking and Aging
The winemaking of Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2014 follows traditional Champagne methods. A proportion of 6 to 8% of the wines undergoes barrel aging for 4 to 6 months, bringing complexity and depth. Aging then continues for 10 years in the cellar, allowing the champagne to develop its unique personality.
Grape Variety
100% chardonnay.
