2007 Barolo, pure Nebbiolo from Piedmont.
Pure Nebbiolo aged in barrels for 48 months, the Piedmont DOCG Barolo Vigna d'la Roul is the strongest cuvee from Rocche dei Manzoni estate. The 2007 vintage displays a purple-tinted dark and shiny red colour. It leads to an intense nose of cherry, tobacco or even wild flowers aromas. On the palate, tannins are tight and structured. The 2007 Vigna d'la Roul carries good strength and great density. It will peak between 2035 and 2040.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2007 Barolo Vigna d'la Roul explodes onto the palate with masses of dark fruit, mocha, spices, licorice and tar, showing considerable muscle. Despite its size, the wine possesses tons of textural finesse in the expansive style of the year. I loved it. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027.
