James Suckling

Cassis, blackberries, roasted meat and black pepper on the nose. It’s full-bodied with fine tannins. Well-balanced, creamy and textural, with a dense core of berries at the center. Lively and well-rounded, with a slightly drying finish and some length. Drink or hold.

Jancis Robinson

Alistair Cooper MW

60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, from vineyards between 100 and 600 m above sea level. Aged 50% in barrels of 3 to 5 years and 50% in stainless-steel tanks. Cask/tank sample. Tasted blind. Very ripe jammy fruits on the nose, dark fruits. The palate is rich and ripe, a warming alcohol note throughout and firm dusty tannins, low acidity. Will give some robust pleasure. (AC)

Wine Enthusiast

Anna-Christina Cabrales

An impressive nose, abundant with fresh florals that refresh the senses. The palate is balanced with a subtle vegetal undertone, providing depth. Its refreshing acidity balances youthful rustic tannins and spotlights fresh purple plums. Ideal with vegetarian dishes featuring roasted cauliflower or sweet potato.

Description

The vivacity and structure of a Beaumes de Venise wine

The estate

An exceptional winemaker, Xavier Vignon has been recognized for over twenty years as one of the greatest specialists in the Southern Rhône Valley. Through each of his cuvées, he precisely expresses his desire to enhance the great terroirs of the Rhône while affixing his unique signature: that of Xavier Vignon. His exclusive creations, notably the Arcane collection, offer enthusiasts an extraordinary sensory and gustatory experience, a reflection of his boundless imagination.

The vineyard

Resulting from a rigorous selection of plots located on Triassic Marls, White Lands and Grey Lands terroirs, this Beaumes de Venise wine benefits from the diversity of its soils and its altitudes ranging between 100 and 600 meters. Nestled at the foot of the Dentelles de Montmirail, these vineyards give the wine a natural acidity, a true signature of the cru.

Vinification and aging

Vinification takes place in vats, followed by aging carried out according to Burgundian methods: 50% of the wine is aged in 3 to 5 year old barrels, and 50% in stainless steel vats, in order to preserve the balance between complexity and freshness.

Blend

This Beaumes de Venise 2021 from Xavier Vignon is a blend of grenache, syrah and mourvèdre.
